Calendar/Schedule/Tuition

NO MAKE-UP FOR PERSONAL SCHEDULE (BIRTHDAY PARTIES, SCHOOL FIELD TRIP, SCHOOL DANCE, VACATION)

  • No lessons on major holidays (no make-up)   
  • No lessons during school breaks (President's Week, Spring Break, Winter Break, Thanksgiving Break)
  • Students will get 4 lessons per month; the 5th lesson will be free of charge.
  • Make-up lesson: NOT APPLICABLE DUE TO SCHEDULE CONFLICT AND AVAILABILITY.
  • Make-up lesson is not applicable for events like birthday parties, trips, vacation, field trip or other sport competition events.
  • Any missed lesson should be reviewed at home before next lesson AND CATCH UP WITH PRACTICE.
  • Teacher is not responsible for keeping the student's schedule for more than one month off.
  • Teacher reserves the right to include 2 weeks of time-off teaching for personal reasons without make-up lessons.
  • Tuition is based on the school year, with a monthly flat fee (30 min, 45 min or 60 min weekly lesson) whether the current month consists of a total of 4 or 5 weekly lessons. 
  • If a student cannot attend one of the 5 weekly lessons, it is not necessary to schedule a make-up lesson.  Students must pick up the assignment from the missed lesson and review them before the next lesson day.  No new material will be taught if a student didn't fulfill or complete the assigned practice homework. 
  • Teacher reserves the right to stop lessons if a student is not interested in practice daily after 6 months of lessons.

Student Responsibility (grade 1 and up)

  • Bring your music book/binder/tote bag and collect all your materials after the lesson.
  • Must respect teacher's piano, electric keyboards and lesson books/binders. 
  • Students are expected to arrive in a timely fashion, with all required materials.
  • Student's siblings may quietly use the waiting area to read books or coloring activity.
  • Student is to remain at the teaching area only.
  • Students shall respect everyone and everything.
  • Restroom, only for emergency due to the drought condition.

Tuition Payment Method:

  • WF Zelle/Venmo/Personal Check/PayPal/Visa/MC/Discover/American Express/Cash/Set-up Auto-payment.
  • Tuition fees will not be refunded nor credited for missed lesson and make-up lesson or for personal time-off.
  • Payment is due no later than the 10th of each month; late payment will have an additional late of fee of $1.00 for each late day.

Summer Schedule:

  • Lessons are not year-round but flexible in the summer months to accommodate the students summer camps and vacation.
  • Students can schedule in the following fashion: twice a week, 3 times a week or 4 times a week around your day camps.
  • If a student decides to take a month or more off, there will be no guarantee to be able to have the same lesson schedule when returning after the summer.

Parent Involvement:

  • Practice encouragement at home with a set schedule daily, practice format will be given after every lesson.
  • Parents are welcome to attend the lesson and observe at the last 10 min of the lesson.
  • Practice at home should be automatic and without distraction. Practice would prepare you for new materials to come.

Lesson Method:

  • Customized individual lesson for each student, compensating on their finger's ability, musical styles and interests. 
  • Method used based on their learning style and age level.
  • Lessons are based on the type of keyboard that the student owns at home, acoustic piano or electric.

Studio Events:  2 live recitals at the piano studio (mandatory after 6 months of lessons) In-person.
